- Malaysian Global Peace (GPM) Protest against Egypt
A protest was held today 10 September 2009 at the Egyptian Embassy at Kuala Lumpur. The Global Peace Mission (GPM) protested against the inhuman treatment and detention of Mr Azlan Muhammad Sharif (Director, relief humanitarian aids, Global peace Mission), a relief worker from Malaysia dedicated to the delivering of humanitarian aid and assistance to the deprived people of Gaza
- Cairo: Malaysian GPM man not picked up by CIA
Azlan Md Shariff of the Global Peace Malaysia (GPM), known to be very active in aiding the Palestinians in Gaza is said to have been picked up in Cairo, Egypt by the CIA yesterday night.
However, a close contact of the GPM in Malaysia informed Wfol.tv that Azlan Shariff was detained by the Egyptian immigration on suspicion that he was working for the Hamas group in Egypt. The source told Wfol.tv that the Malaysian was not arrested by the CIA instead and he confirmed that Azlan is on a mission in Cairo with the aim of entering Gaza to deliver aid.

Pengerusi Misi Keamanan Sejagat Malaysia (GPM) Ahmad Azam Abdul Rahman pagi tadi mendakwa kerajaan Mesir mengamalkan pilih kasih ke atas NGOnya apabila Ketua Delegasinya ke Gaza, Azlan Muhammad Sharif dipenjara Polis Mesir selama tiga hari tiga malam tanpa suatu asas yang jelas.

A Malaysian was interrogated for 3 days after his arrest in Cairo. He was interrogated with what is called ‘hard interrogation tactics’ by the officers present.
